A quarter of adults in the UK haven’t visited the dentist in the last two years, while around 40% of children aren’t making annual visits to their dentist. And while many people believe that brushing twice a day is enough for a good standard of oral hygiene (it isn’t), one in four adults admit to only brushing once a day.
It’s a false economy to only visit the dentist when you are in pain. The fact is that with regular examinations and appointments with a hygienist, you will nip developing problems in the bud before they become serious enough to need expensive treatment. In those cases where treatment is necessary, it is likely to be less costly than if you had waited until the problem was more advanced.

Regular visits to the dentist might sound like a frightening prospect if you are someone who experiences anxiety at the thought of it, but in the long run it’s the best way to develop a healthy relationship with your oral care. Giving your dentist the chance to identify and address problems in their early stages dramatically lessens the likelihood that you will need more invasive treatment further down the line.
In cases where problems have already developed to the point where a tooth is damaged and needs urgent attention, we provide fillings, root canal therapy and extractions. These treatments are all offered in close consultation with Oberah and she will support you gently throughout your treatment, minimising pain and distress. We also do free treatment under the NHS for children and Oberah’s gentle and caring nature resonates well with her younger patients (as well as her older ones).
